What are Coil End Lead Cables?

Coil end lead cables are single-core cables designed according to the BS6195 standard and featuring Class 5 flexible tinned copper conductors. They’re insulated with EPR/CSP composite insulation  which is HOFR and provides protection against lubricants and harsh environmental conditions.

These cables are commonly applied in Access Automation Systems such as gate automation and barriers, as well as in electrical machinery and panel wiring applications. Coil End Lead cables provide flexible, durable connections to generators, circuit breakers, transformers, and actuators, especially where oil resistance is essential.

Our cables are sourced from AEI Cables, a renowned manufacturer known for producing top tier products in compliance with British standards.

Benefits of Coil End Lead Cables

  • Coil end lead cables are designed to handle frequent bending, twisting, and flexing without breaking or degrading making them perfect for motors and machinery where there are constant moving parts.
  • HOFR (heat, oil, and flame resistance). HOFR is essential in cables where there is a risk of mechanical damage and stresses.
  • These cables are made with robust materials that can withstand harsh conditions like extreme temperatures, chemicals, and mechanical stress.
  • The design of coil end lead cables can carry current effectively with minimal resistance.
  • Reduced EMI. Coil end lead cables can be designed to minimise electromagnetic interference.
  • Heat resistance. These cables are constructed with materials that can effectively dissipate heat which reduces the risk of overheating.
  • Due to their durability, HOFR, heat resistance, and EMI, these cables ensure safer electrical systems by reducing the risks of fires, faults, or interference.

FAQs

Why are coil end lead cables preferred in harsh environments?

These cables are preferred in harsh environments due to their durability, flexibility, and resistance to heat, oil, and flames. The HOFR insulation protects the cables from lubricants and other harsh substances, making them suitable for demanding applications.

Why do I need HOFR cables?

HOFR cables offer enhanced safety by resisting heat, oil, and fire making the cables ideal for use in environments exposed to these elements.

What maintenance is required for coil end lead cables?

Coil end lead cables require minimal maintenance due to their durable construction. However, keep an eye out for signs of wear, damage, or degradation, especially in harsh environments.

How do I order?
